Who is Monica?
Monica is the middlest but most superlative member of Mad King Thomas. She began dance lessons at the tender age of three in her hometown of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Primarily trained in ballet, she's been on slight forays into tap, modern and jazz. In 2001, she left the east coast to attend Macalester College. There she majored in history, began choreographing, met Theresa and Tara, and co-founded Mad King Thomas. Monica has had the pleasure of dancing for Cara DeLavallade, Judith Howard, Hijack, Emily Johnson, Justin Jones, Susan Scalf and Dylan Skybrook, April Sellers, Galen Treuer, Kristin Van Loon and Sharon Varosh. Most recently, she served as an interpreter in Tino Sehgal's piece "Instead of allowing some thing to rise up to your face dancing bruce and dan and other things" at the Walker Art Center.
